Born and bred in Brazil, Joao moved to Europe at an early age, completing high school in Brussels and later university in London. As a student of International Relations at King’s College London, Joao became fascinated with the socio-political impact of technology in the world, motivating him to apply for a Master’s degree in Data and Society at the LSE.
In parallel, Joao started immersing himself in the tech scene, completing a research project at an innovation consultancy, Living Tomorrow, in Brussels; doing business development and digital marketing at a software development agency, Whyable, in London; and helping with operations at an online lending startup, Nexoos, in Sao Paulo.
As EQT Ventures’ platform lead, Joao is responsible for post-investment support for our portfolio companies, helping to connect our founders and interface between the fund and broader tech and VC ecosystem. In this role, he’s leading the development of the firm’s platform offering for our founders, contributing towards portfolio growth and success. Joao also continues to help with the fund’s brand and marketing.
In his spare time, Joao enjoys reading about media, tech and culture, listening to podcasts, and doing street photography.
